Plays in the Modern Library
|
The Modern Library is a great series for play lovers. With dozens of play anthologies and playwright pages, you're never at a loss for finding a collection from British, American, Greek, or a number of other traditions. The problem comes in finding the volume that holds the title you want. This page has been created to address that problem by listing the title of every play published in the Modern Library series to 1991. A number of plays appear in several volumes but for simplicity we reference just one here. The play titles link to more specific pages where you can sometimes find references to other Modern Library sources for the same play (for example, at the bottom of the Aeschylus page). Leading articles (A, An, and The) have been removed from play titles. You can sort by Title, Author, or the original language of the play. (We even distinguish between American and British.) You can limit the search results to just one language. If you know of a play that isn't listed here, please let us know. |
