Notes on Camus' The Plague

The first printing shows 405 titles on the dust jacket inverse. The second printing retains the "First Printing" statement on the verso but has a fall 1961 Giants list and sports a fall 1961 jacket showing a lower number, 403 titles, on the DJ inverse.

The May 1961 first printing of 20,000 copies sold so well that there was a second printing of 10,000 copies in December 1961 and two printings of 15,000 copies each in 1962.
