The current group-by-designer project will continue. As folks send in entries, that section will be expanded. 2. DJ's will also be grouped by title such that all DJ variations for a given title will be viewable on the same page. 3. Each title DJ grouping will be a subset of an author title grouping -- for example, a page's title will be EDGAR ALLEN POE in which you'll find the subset titles Best Tales, Selected Poetry and Prose, and Complete Tales and Poems. All DJ variations for Best Tales will appear together, followed by Selected Poetry and Prose DJ's, and so on. 4. There may be multiple pages for each author (as there certainly will be for people like Faulkner), but all DJ variations of a given title will be on the same page. 5. I may go to more than 12 images per page if a plain old home computer running A 56K modem can handle it with no greater-than-customary download time. 6. The completed image bank will handle the years 1928 through 1970, and will include all pictorial, design, and non-boilerplate text styles found on flexis and hardbacks, plus illustrated acetates and box images, plus paperbacks. (The boilerplate text stuff is illustrated in the Guide as types DJ 1-4 + T, and I don't care about anything after 1970; if anybody wants to handle these exclusions on another Website, I'll gladly set up links to it.) 7. In addition to the cheap-and-dirty-pratically-useless search engine, there will be three hypertext indices: a) designer/Illustrator, as it is now b) author (perhaps with "misc" handled by editor) c) title 8. After I get everything in place, I'll be asking for DJ submissions on a weekly basis by alphabetic entry over the next 26 weeks -- the first week all the A authors, the second week all the B authors, etc. But please wait until I put in all the DJ's I already have!!! 9. The information in the image bank will NOT replace the information in the Toledano Guide; it will only enhance it by letting you see what the DJ's look like. I probably won't be using the Toledano decimals (e.g. the ".3" in "107.3") to identify images since there's no need to do that in association with DJ's. So there you go. This plan should keep me busy for the next several years. Heaven help me. -------------------------------------
