Four of the five volumes were signed by the artists: Dostoyevsky, Brothers Karamazov, illustrated by William Sharp; Wisdom of Confucius, illustrated by Jeanyee Wong; Dickens, Pickwick Papers, illustrated by David McKay; and Fielding, History of Tom Jomes, illustrated by Warren Chappell. Fritz Kredel escaped the chore of signing 500 volumes; it was thought inappropriate to sign The Holy Bible. Does anyone have a signed copy of the first Illustrated Modern Library printing of Brothers Karamazov, Wisdom of Confucius, Pickwick Papers, or History of Tom Jones? NEAVILL, I checked my collection and found one edition of "THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV" that has MODERN LIBRARY on the spine while all the others have"Illustrated Modern library".
