The ML anthology followed the contents of the British volume closely, but Cerf suggested that Aiken make several changes. First, he wanted Aiken's own poems to be included (none of his poems was in the 1922 edition). Aiken added 10 of his own poems to the ML edition. Cerf also told Aiken that he wouldn't mind if William Carlos Williams and Arturo Giovannitti were omitted. Aiken dropped the single Giovannitti poem in the 1922 edition and cut Williams presence from 7 poems to one--but didn't omit Williams completely. -------------------------------------
