Three Giant Sizes?

Modern Library giants were of a uniform size in the period 1931-1970: 5.5" by 8.25". But ModernLib Life Member John Wolansky submitted the following image to the Modern Library Mailing List. Only the Gilbert & Sulllivan is the size it ought to be. So what's up with the other two?
The following DJ-less image sets should give you a hint (although Mailing List members didn't have them to go on):
Constant contributors Sharon Biederman and Barry Neavill figured it out first: Sharon realized that the War & Peace is a pirate, probably from Taiwan which was famous for counterfeiting ML titles; and Barry recognized the Wisdom as a repackaged Random House second printing copy from 1949 wrapped in an enlarged ML jacket.

To quote Emerson: "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do." (From Self-Reliance in Complete Essays, ML 91.2, P.152) No worries, mateā€”just collect Modern Libraries!
